Concrete masters is a company that installed a pool deck on my property, then they started cracking the slabs. This is extremely frustrating and I don’t recommend them at all. They are refusing to fix/replace the cracked sections of concrete.

Flow testing is an important part of concrete quality control, as it determines whether the concrete mix has the desired workability (slump). Slump is measured using an “Abrams cone” which is placed with its wide end down onto a non-absorptive surface. The concrete is then gradually lifted off the cone and a measurement of its volume is recorded.

A variety of admixtures can increase the slump of a concrete mix, including air entraining agents and plasticizers. However, they can also decrease the compressive strength of concrete.

Some additives also enhance its durability, especially in freeze-thaw conditions. They can include corrosion inhibitors, defoamers and bonding agents.
